GARMENT TECHNICIAN

Overview:

  • The purpose of the Garment Technician is to ensure that the quality and fit of Beginning Boutique’s range are to the highest standard. It is important that every product we release fits well, and the fits are consistent and commercial and is the best fabrication for the design and works to our pricing requirements. The Garment Technician will have an understanding of production processes to help with decision making during the fit process. The main purpose of this role is to make sure our customer loves the fit and quality of every single piece they order.

Responsibilities:

  • Approve all graded specs sent in by suppliers
  • Maintain the consistency of sizing, quality and workmanship, across suppliers to ensure the customer’s needs are reflected
  • Ensure similar garments all have consistent care instructions/constructions and finishes/fits
  • Liaise and assist suppliers to ensure that all styles are constructed using the most up to date production techniques
  • Manage fitting sessions and timetable with Product Managers and communicate with suppliers both local and offshore
  • Take required photos on model and dummy for clear accurate reports to be sent through to factories
  • Finish all reports following QA processes and systems – ensuring reports are clear and accurate and sent within QA timeframes
  • Maintain fit schedule to ensure monthly supplier department reports can be accessed at any time
  • Identify any current product fit issues that have come to attention and limit financial consequences i.e. If similar product is being added ensure fit problems are rectified
  • Set up processes in conjunction with Senior Production Coordinator
  • Ensure that all styles are constructed using the most appropriate techniques and accessories to ensure longevity of the garment and must be fit for purpose
  • Ensure current systems and strategies that are in place with suppliers are maintained to encourage suppliers to constantly improve their quality issues relating to our product
  • Have a clear understanding of the critical path and production processes to make clear, decisive and timely decisions for on time deliveries.
  • Provide technical advice to the Product Team to resolve any fit or construction issues
  • Manage fabric testing process/care instruction allocation and offer assistance when required to change initial care instruction in accordance to the submitted fabric test report results
  • Have a clear understanding of care instruction by fabric and style to ensure consistency is achieved

Demonstrate capability in:
Testing fabric and garments to meet care label requirement and Australian standards and Beginning Boutique Quality level

  • Fitting garments. Identifying fit issues and demonstrating analytical skills to resolve fit problems through pattern alteration and or construction techniques
  • Ensuring standard care instructions for consistency and ensure legal requirements are met.
  • Alert Senior Production Coordinator to any consistent issues or non compliance of Beginning Boutique standards from suppliers or buying teams to identify problems early on in the fitting process
  • Liaise with suppliers and ensure that quality processes meet Beginning Boutique standards
  • Be the point of contact for Product Managers and BB managers when quality issues arise

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following;

  • Tertiary education in fashion design, pattern making or equivalent
  • Photoshop, illustrator and CAD at medium skill level
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to create and edit tech packs
  • Excellent construction and fabric knowledge
  • Product critical path knowledge
  • Previous pattern making experience
  • 5 + years in a garment tech position for apparel company
  • Quality Assurance experience
  • Experience in setting up QA and garment approval processes
  • Understanding in garment grading and sizing

STYLIST AND SHOOT ASSISTANT

Overview:

  • The purpose of the Stylist and Shoot Assistant is to work closely with a photographer and other people involved in Beginning Boutique’s photoshoots, which typically includes the models, agencies, hairstylists and make-up artists. You will style Beginning Boutique’s product in line with current trends and as the assistant, you will handle the scheduling side of all shoots for Beginning Boutique.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with styling e-Commerce and look book shoots
  • Assuring all styling items are on trend and in stock and styling pieces are regularly updated
  • Steaming and ensuring products are ready for shoot
  • Managing, organising, cleaning and prepping shoot room
  • Organising logistics for on-site and off-site (what equipment is needed etc)
  • Booking all models and make up artists for e-Commerce and look book shoots
  • Negotiating terms on contracts
  • Purchasing of any props
  • Ensuring receipts are kept and emailed to the Finance Team
  • Responsible for shoot studio prep, organisation and maintenance including product prep, studio set ups and pack down
  • Transferring of product to and from warehouse around shoot days

Requirements:

  • 1+ year experience as stylist
  • 1+ year in an shoot assistant or admin position
  • A keen eye for fashion and how to style
  • An understanding of eCommerce styling and product development
  • A strong understanding of our customer and what she loves

Overview:

  • The Customer Success Manager’s purpose at Beginning Boutique is to assist with our day to day operations and to lead and manage the Customer Care Team in being the first point of contact to our loyal customer base. You will provide high level and professional care to their questions and queries, as well as assisting and resolving all customer enquiries in accordance with our company vision and mission. You will be responsible for identifying any areas of improvement for our customer’s overall experience, as well as the general day-to-day operations of your department and driving the customer service channel as an additional sales channel. You will also be required to work closely with the Head of Operations, Warehouse Manager and Area Supervisors to ensure a smooth customer experience across all touch points.
    You will be responsible for helping to push the global team agenda and growing the team alongside the company's growth. This role will help to cement our business as a leader in customer service and ensure we are eliminating any unnecessary reason for the customer to contact us.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and set tone for communication across customer service and website
  • Develop and implement new areas for the Customer Care team to increase revenue through communication channels
  • Transform our Customer Care team into a Global Customer Service organisation
  • Drive Customer Care initiatives to increase revenue through our customer care team.
  • Keep ahead of industry’s developments and apply best practices to areas of improvement

Requirements:

  • 3 years minimum experience in a customer service management role
  • 2 years minimum experience in a sales driving role

  • Have previous experience managing a team of 8 or more and in multiple locations

E-Commerce Returns Assistant

  • Beginning Boutique is seeking an E-commerce Returns Assistant to assist in processing of return orders and shipments within the specified timeframes.

Duties and tasks include but are not limited to the following:

  • Monitoring inbound return operations, ensure all shipments are being processed accurately and efficiently
  • Monitoring workload and reporting to manager
  • Processing returns orders daily to KPI

Forklift Driver / Warehouse Assistant

Beginning Boutique is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to assist in processing of inbound deliveries and stock replenishments within the specified timeframes.

Duties and tasks include but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure efficient product receipting and put away
  • Monitoring workload and reporting to manager
  • Replenishment daily to KPI
  • Driving forklift for pallet storage and deliveries
  • Communicate effectively with customer service and other team members who require warehouse tasks performed.
  • Attending safety inductions and training as required
  • Keeping work areas clean and free of hazards
  • Contributing to the team environment by carrying out other duties as required
  • Actively participating in stocktakes as required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement programs on an ongoing basis
  • Ensuring accuracy of warehouse systems
  • Ensuring a safe workplace

Selection Criteria for Successful Candidate

CASUAL WAREHOUSE STORE PERSON

Beginning Boutique is currently looking for a Warehouse Store Person to join us in our Warehouse Team.

A day in the life of a Warehouse Store Person is never the same! It will involve, but is not limited to the following:

  • Reporting directly to the Manager and working closely with our Supply Chain team
  • Manage all stock movements into the warehouse
  • Stock counting, receiving and locating within the warehouse and its procedures
  • Ensure stock warehouse is well kept & easily accessible
  • Provide feedback to the warehouse team on how to manage stock efficiently
  • Minimise shrinkage & contribute to the overall stock take results through sound loss prevention processes
  • Working with a team of inventory assistants and working closely with Manager and Supervisor on meeting team goals and targets.
  • Assist with coordinating all aspects of cycle stock takes
  • Work in collaboration with the Management to achieve inventory management excellence

E-COMMERCE INTERNSHIP

We are currently recruiting for June 2022 positions

Want to up your skills in e-commerce and product knowledge? We need someone to assist with uploading, steaming, organising and describing our products! You will get to work with our team to help get our product on site. This position needs to run through a university and is 100-hour unpaid internship that ends with the course requirement or needs to be undertaken by the student as experiential learning with the same hours. We require 1 day a week and are looking for 2 interns this semester.
